Our Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Policy Statement

Everyone who works at Western Camp Services Ltd. is responsible for protecting the environment and the health and safety of our people, contractors and local communities. Our commitment to quality, health, safety and environmental performance is an integral part of our business, and achieving cost-effective QHSE solutions is essential to our long-term success.

We will continually improve our environmental, health and safety performance by:

  • Integrating health, safety and environmental best practices into all parts of our business.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Establishing goals and objectives for the company and measuring performance.
  • Identifying, assessing and managing QHSE risk through our business.
  • Ensuring that each employee and contractor understands their QHSE responsibilities and is competent to meet them and is monitored for compliance.
  • Delivery of defect-free products and services that meet the requirements of our internal and external customers through continuous improvement of our quality management system.

Western Camp Services Ltd. recognizes the importance of the involvement and commitment of management and the responsibility of each and every employee and contractor in the application of this policy. Managers, supervisors and employees at all levels are held accountable for their health, safety and environmental performance.

The commitments contained in this policy statement depend entirely on all of Western’s Managers and Personnel taking ownership of quality, health, safety and environmental performance. That’s how we will eliminate accidents and environmental incidents and fulfil all of our QHSE commitments.


Our Environmental Policy Statement


Western Camp Services Ltd. is committed to environmental stewardship in all aspects of our business.

As one of the largest camp and catering companies in Western Canada, we accept responsibility and accountability in the environmental impacts of our operations in providing service to customers in our service territory.

Consistent with our goal to provide safe, reliable and efficient service to our customers, Western Camp Services Ltd. promotes the development and application of procedures to minimize the ecological impacts of our operations as well as supporting environmental sustainability in both short and long term for our current and future generations.

Western Camp Services Ltd. commits to:

  1.  Meet and exceed, where practical and prudent, all environmental regulations set by legislation, government directives, and other environmental requirements to which Western Camp Services Ltd. subscribes;
  2. Continual improvement by establishing and maintaining an environmental management framework for setting and reviewing objectives and targets;
  3. Work closely with all levels of stakeholders  involved in our operations to reduce environmental impacts;
  4. Involve all staff in the promotion and awareness of environmental issues through training and guidance;
  5. Identify and investigate efforts to reduce pollution, waste and the consumption of resources;
  6. Promote transparency through documenting and publishing our environmental performance;
  7. Implement and maintain a Green procurement policy;
  8. Green fleet management (emission reduction) through more efficient vehicle utilization, alternative fuels and hybrid vehicles where supported through operational processes.
